Make changes to your application after applying to IU

Use the link below to log in to your IU Portal and access the change form to make changes to your application. Through the form, you will be able to update most information, including your major. To correct a Social Security number, please follow the specific mailing instructions provided below.

  • Important consideration

    Change your major

    Changing your major may impact your application. If you have already been admitted, your application for admission will be reviewed again. Students who change their major will receive a response to their request within 10 business days.

  • Required by mail

    Update your Social Security number

    Write to our mailing address below. Include your name, date of birth, university ID number, and correct Social Security number in the correspondence.
