Bunchana Atthakor Scholarship

A scholarship for native Thai graduate Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs on the IU Bloomington campus, with an emphasis on the study of business, public affairs, and economics.

What is the Bunchana Atthakor Scholarship?

The Bunchana Atthakor Scholarship supports native Thai graduate Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs on the IU Bloomington campus, with an emphasis on the study of business, public affairs, and economics.

The fund may grant one or two scholarships per year, ranging from $750 to $1,500. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.

Eligibility

To be considered, you must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time graduate Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ at IU Bloomington.
  • Be a native of a country within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
  • Have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

The scholarship is intended for a full-time Thai graduate Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ majoring in business, public affairs, or economics. However, if there are no eligible applicants who demonstrate financial need in those fields of study, the scholarship may go to any Thai Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ. If there are no eligible Thai applicants who demonstrate a financial need, the scholarship may go to a Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ from any ASEAN country who is majoring in business, public affairs, or economics.

How to apply

  1. Complete a , and select the Bunchana Atthakor application.
  2. Upload a one- to two-page personal statement. It should focus on the following topics:
    • Reason for seeking a degree in the United States.
    • Hardships encountered, including financial need.
    • Career plans upon degree completion.
  3. Provide two academic or professional written references:
    • Your primary reference should be an IU academic advisor, professor, or department contact. This individual will receive an email from us to provide information about your academic progress and eligibility for a scholarship when you submit the form.
    • Your second reference can be academic or professional. You will receive an email with instructions for submitting the contact information for your second reference after you submit the scholarship application.

Deadline to apply

We accept applications in the spring semester each year. We send an email, typically in February or March, to all international Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs with application deadlines.
