IUBound is a program designed for Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs, particularly 21st Century Scholars, to develop an early connection with Indiana University Bloomington. IUBound Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs learn about IU, prepare for college, and take their next steps toward becoming a Hoosier.

Get to know IUBound

It’s never too early to start thinking about college, and the IUBound program is designed to help Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs picture their future at Indiana University Bloomington and learn what it takes to get on the path to an IU degree. If you're a 21st Century Scholar or you receive free/reduced lunch, the IUBound program is designed for you.

Starting in eighth grade, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs in the IUBound program receive personalized guidance and support throughout the college journey. Early engagement provides more opportunities to connect with IU, make the most of the high school experience, and build the confidence needed to navigate the college application process.

IUBound events

You can read all about IU's culturally rich community, spirited Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ life, and academic opportunities, but the best way to learn more is by connecting with us at one of the programs below. You’ll have opportunities talk with current Hoosiers, meet other prospective Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs, engage with staff, and chart your path to IU with confidence.

Some of these events are for Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs and others are for families and supporters; all require a reservation.

Reach IU

Who it's for: Students in grades 8 through 10

When/where: Fall and spring, throughout Indiana

What it is: Reach IU helps Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs kick-start their college and career planning with tips and tools from IU Admissions experts. The program prepares Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs to explore their interests, set goals for the future, and prepare for college both academically and financially. Families and supporters are invited to attend. This program is offered in partnership with community organizations across Indiana.

Ready IU

Who it's for: Students in grades 9 through 11

When/where: Ongoing throughout the year, online

What it is: High school Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs are invited to use this free online college preparation course. Ready IU features sections on application and scholarship essay writing, college application tips, and preparing for a successful start to your college planning.

Hoosier Launch

Who it's for: Rising 9th graders

When/where: Summer, on the IU Bloomington campus

What it is: Students spend a weekend on campus at Indiana University Bloomington and get ready to launch into high school success. This program, designed especially for 21st Century Scholars, offers hands-on workshops and mentoring to help Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs explore diploma options, build a freshman-year plan, and start strong from day one.

IU Precollege Academy

Who it's for: Students ready to enter their senior year

When/where: Summer, on the IU Bloomington campus

What it is: This free, multi-day program allows high school seniors to learn more about college life and the application process and see themselves as college Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs—while having fun! The IU Precollege Academy is an on-campus experience where Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµs stay overnight at IU.

Explore IU

Who it's for: Students in grades 10 through 12

When/where: Fall, on the IU Bloomington campus

What it is: Experience life as a Hoosier and explore the ways you’ll be welcomed and supported at IU! You’ll learn about majors that spark your interest, get helpful information about the admissions process, tour campus, and make connections.

21st Century Scholars webinars

Who it's for: Students in grades 9 through 12

When/where: Ongoing throughout the year, online

What it is: Get help navigating your path to IU Bloomington as a 21st Century Scholar. Meet with IU experts for insight into the application and admissions process, ways to fund your IU degree, taking your next steps to enroll at IU, and more.
