Online orientation for international Ï㽶ÊÓƵs

New Student Orientation (NSO) for international undergraduate Ï㽶ÊÓƵs will happen online. You’ll build a community with new international and American Ï㽶ÊÓƵs. You’ll learn about IU’s incredible academic experience, register for classes when you meet with your academic advisor, and explore the wide range of resources available to you as a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.

In addition to the online Foundations of Orientation program, you will also be required to complete an International Orientation course from the Office of International Services. After completing both of these courses, you’ll be well prepared to successfully transition to IU. If you are unable to attend a virtual NSO, you will need to reach out to your advisor to understand other potential options. Remember, you will need to reach Bloomington by the date on your I-20 or DS-2019 and that complete a few important required steps after you arrive in the U.S.

Parents, guests, and supporters

We encourage Ï㽶ÊÓƵs to bring an adult guest to the in-person program as we offer a track that runs concurrently with the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ program. Due to space, Ï㽶ÊÓƵs should limit to 1–2 adult guests.

When making their orientation reservation, Ï㽶ÊÓƵs have the opportunity to identify accessibility needs for themselves and any guests who may accompany them.

In-person programs involve significant walking around campus. Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.
